Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I hunt on this property?

A: Your stay does not include hunting privileges on this private ranch.

The Birdhouse is located in hunting unit 14, with easy access to units 13 and 18. Forest boundary is 4 miles east.

Q:  I read that this is in the middle of a working cattle ranch - what does this mean?

A:  This means that you will be staying on a very large private ranch.  You may see cows, horses, and

goats in the distance, but you are fenced off from them.  If you have animals, please make sure you monitor them.

Q:  I have about 10 to 12 people who want to stay is this too many?

A:  Although 'The Birdhouse' sleeps 8 comfortably, feel free to bring sleeping bags and or even tents,

there is plenty of room for them.

Q:  I heard there is no cell service in White Bird, is this true?

A:  Where we are located, you will most likely have cell service, however we cannot guarantee this depending on your

phone company choice.  There is no phone line, and no internet at this time, but a short distance away (6 mi.) is

the Canyon House, which is a coffee and wi-fi hot spot. In White Bird the town, there is no cell service.

Q:  I read on the homepage that you are fully equipped, what does that mean exactly?

A:  What that means is that the kitchen has basics like coffee, sugar, tea, and salt and pepper.  If you want specialty

spices or condiments, please bring them, or you can buy them - we do have a little general store in town, and

there is a food package service available.  There is laundry detergent for the washer and dryer as well.  If you want

a lot of crushed ice for your coolers and such, you will have to purchase that in town, approx 6 miles away.  Soap,

shampoo, dishwashing liquid for the dishwasher is available.

Q:  I have AAA and AARP, do I qualify for a discount?

A:  Because we are not a motel or hotel, our prices do not fluctuate with any given season.  At times we may offer a

special discount for a promotion, but generally speaking we do not give discounts.

Q: We have a seminar of 10 people and this place is perfect, but many of us rode together and some other people are

staying in town, is there a taxi service in White Bird?

A: There is a shuttle service in town that can accommodate your transportation needs.  They are very affordable and

can take you wherever you need to go.

Q: We are a family of 4, with 2 small children, if we just use two beds instead of three does that change the price?

A: Yes it does.  Less beds mean less time for us to clean it up and wash the sheets, etc.  We are very easy to work

with, and if you have any questions about this type of thing, please feel free to call us at 208-839-2825 or 839-2292.
